This Is How We Dream Part 1
    Richard E. Miller

The ways of communicating have gone global through writing.  Writing is a form of communication we use everyday and now has a new meaning.  The use of multimedia have made the use of documents a virtual one.  This video describes how the use of paper and pen is almost obsolete.  Mr. Miller goes on to say that even researching has gone in such a new and fast way to search a topic.  He worked on a paper about violence without stepping into the library.  He found information about who supported The Bush Doctrine.  Even though his findings are in print, they will live on through a web based document.

Mr. Miller said he was a product of "the old school."  This time of books and going to the library to do research are over.  He has become versed on the technology of today.  The creativity and limitless use of the web keeps you hooked on new ways of learning.  The networking abilities, images, and film are important to the children of today.  We, as educators, need to heighten our learning abilities and be creative in any subject.

This is How We Dream Part 2

The use of visual media approach to learning shows unlimited ways of getting information on any subject.  Miller shares how the material updates instantly, which could be a downfall.  Never fear because it will be replaced with an tool that is even better.  Ideas are shared with education globally; individual projects are shared to learn more.  Writing has taken on a new form by blogging.  This is a different way for children to expand writing skills in a inventive way.  Collaboration of the multimedia and creativity is shown through Mr. Miller's presentation through writing.
Language Arts has come a long way.  The use of computers and web tools to help children be creative and enhance their writing skills are limitless.  I am astounded by web tools to incorporate in any learning situation.  Writing has come a long way, hasn't it?

Carly Pugh

Carly shows a unique way of thinking about your own philosophies in the classroom.  The playlist gives motivation everyday as teachers and as individuals.  Listing her favorite characters and writers in her post was very personable.  Technology should help motivate students to learn and share ideas.  We, as teachers in training, should get motivated to be a great educator in the classroom.
I like the playlist of videos they were insightful and fun.  I inspire to be that great and informative about computer techniques.  Daily motivation is what we need sometimes as people and teachers.  I started thinking about how I could motivate myself to do more each day.

The Chipper Series

Chipper had a difficult time thinking she needed to be on time with anything.  She made excuses to get out of work by foretelling the future telling that her work was on time.  Procrastination is a problem with Chipper.  She loves to do other things and puts off doing her school work.  She might have a problem prioritizing.  Then, she wants Dr. Strange to teach here how to learn instead of helping herself learn.  She drops out of school and starts a timeline school where you can put whatever time you want to into your school work.  Then, her student is not suited to actually do anything.  The student didn't put enough time into her school work.  Finally, Chipper is having a hard time because she didn't put enough time into anything that was important to her.  So, she has a problem.  How is she ever going to be a productive person without working hard to achieve it?
Chipper is like so many people.  We wait till the last minute to do anything.  My excuse is I'm better under pressure.  Sometimes, I can be, but it might not be my best work.  Being on time can be hard.  I myself have worked as a young adult and had to be on time.  I opened a business at a certain time.  Therefore, I had to be very responsible.  College is getting you ready for your job.  Excuses and procrastination can follow and hurt you ultimately if it's not corrected.

 EDM for Dummies

The girls have reached their frustration level and go crazy.  They start slamming all the computers and keyboards.  They have the ultimate break down because of this EDM class.  The pressures have gotten to them.  With Skype, Audacity, Twitter, Delicious, You Tube, and Google Docs, things have become easier for them.  They can work with multimedia resources and know more about them.
I am feeling the same way at times.  This is a video that I can relate too.  This was a cute interpretation of how a lot of people may feel.  I know as a future teacher I am going to be better for taking this class.  The information alone will help us enhance our classroom.  We may not feel that way now, but we will hopefully later in our own classroom.

Learn to Change, Change to Learn
Christie Odom

Technology has started a new community with texting, Facebook, and Twitter.  Using these tools create a networking among students, parents, and educators.  The classroom uses the web and home to create a virtual family.  Teachers need to use these instruments with the students to make the learning environment a group oriented project.  This is the future of our students and classroom.  As educators, we need to be aware of new learning techniques.  This will give our children ways to be better problem solvers and communicators in the classroom.
Again, this is another way to see our future classroom as a virtual learning experience.  We should embrace this way of thinking because it's not going away.  Use multimedia tools to help and explore in the classroom.  You, as the teacher, will learn right along with the student.  Also, it will make your room a learning community.

Discovery Education 2.0 for 2011

These web hi tech tools are a collaborative use for students.  Children have many different ways of learning.  This shows an alternate learning environment by involving web tools.  It encourages the child to be creative, interactive, and engaging.  The tools used are ever changing, but then are replaced with something better.  Students have a way to constantly change and grow with every tool they encounter.
Educators want their students to grow and evolve.  In using all these new web tools, children can be presenters and followers.  The capabilities of our children through the use of multimedia tools are positive and dynamic.  Embrace the change in our new classrooms.

Scavenger Hunt
Presentation Tools

The tool that is closely used in this presentation is Animoto.  The price of this web tool is free for what is the least amount.  Lite is free version.  A step up is the Plus version, which is $2.50 a month.  Then, the highest amount that could be paid is the Pro version, which is $20.75 a month.  These are all reasonable prices for animation in a presentation. This free version seems to have a lot of capability.  Smartboard Revolution is a video tool with the Smartboard.  You sign up online and go to a virtual Smartboard that is linked globally.  You show your favorite Smartboard activity and share with educators.
The tool that is similar to Facebook and Twitter that is a social platform for parents, children, and teachers is Edmodo.  The page is set up similar to Facebook.  Also, it looks like a college online class.  It has all the features of an online class, email direct, assignments, and latest posts.  The teacher comes in and sets up the page to show the class and the school specifically.  Testing and polls are given through this website.  Teachers make a profile page to encourage the children to do so.
The children sign in and have a password; then it leads you to the page.  If the teacher has set up the virtual page, the child clicks on assignments to see what is due that day.  Emailing, comments, and notes can be made with the class.  The use of Google documents, favorites, and add to library is possible through the page.  The child goes there to work on a subject instead of using a book.
Children using this type of interactive page get instant feedback.  They have the use of a book through an online look.  I believe this is really getting them ready for any online class.  The parents can go in on the page and see what work they are doing and grades.  The feedback is instant, and you don't have to wait for that paper to be graded.  I really like that quick grading ability myself.  It keeps the classroom online but still has the ability to be interactive and be a community.

  1. Hi,

Your assignment is completed in that you did all of the required sections for this post. However, you do not have links for all of the information you wrote about. The ones that you do have links for, are not incorporated into your writing which makes them harder to find. Also, your post looks dull in that there is only one picture for such a long blog post. I would suggest a picture or two more, though it is not required so I understand. Lastly, your scavenger hunt section includes no links at all. If you did try to include links to it, they do not work. I would suggest previewing your posts before publishing them so you can make sure you have these logistical things worked out.
